一、课程介绍(含教学目标、教学要求等)300字以内)

这是一门为研究生开设的重在阐述多媒体技术的理论基础的课程。主要讲述数字图像、视频和音频等多媒体数据的生成原理、多媒体软件工具、多媒体数据压缩以及各种压缩标准、多媒体通信和检索等内容。通过学习这些内容,为学生今后开展多媒体通信和信息处理及相关领域的研究和开发工作,打下良好的基础。

1.多媒体编著和数据表现:多媒体导论;多媒体编著和工具;图形和图像的数据表现;图像和视频中的颜色;视频中的基本概念;数字音频基础。

2.多媒体数据压缩:无损压缩算法;有损压缩算法;图像压缩标准;基本视频压缩技术;MPEG视频编码IMPEG-1MPEG-2MPEG视频编码IIMPEG-4MPEG-7及更高版本;音频压缩技术基础;MPEG音频压缩。

四、主讲教师简介:

主讲教师陈阳,19751月生,男,博士后,副教授。研究方向信号与信息处理。先后主持2项国家自然科学基金项目。在国内外核心期刊和会议上作为第一作者发表论文20余篇。2002年获中国电子学会第八届青年学术年会优秀论文奖。2006年入选东南大学优秀青年教师教学科研资助计划。被评为2008年度中国科技论文在线优秀评审专家。

  1. Course Introduction (including teaching goals and requirements) within 300 words:

This is a course for the level of graduate students that focuses on the theoretical foundation of the multimedia technology. It mainly covers the principle of the generation of the multimedia data such as digital image, video and audio signals, multimedia software tools, multimedia data compression and compression standards, multimedia communication and retrieval. Through learning these contents, a good foundation can be built for the students to carry out R&D in multimedia communication and information processing and related areas.

1. Multimedia Authoring and Data Representations: Introduction to Multimedia; Multimedia Authoring and Tools; Graphics and Image Data Representations; Color in Image and Video; Fundamental Concepts in Video; Basics of Digital Audio.

  1. Brief Introduction of Chief lecturer:


Yang Chen, born in Jan. 1975, male, Ph.D., Associate Professor. His research direction is signal and information processing. He has been granted for 2 projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has first-authored over 20 papers in international and domestic core journals and conferences. In 2002, he received the Excellent Paper Award in the 8th Youth Conference of Chinese Institute of Electronics. In 2006, he received the Southeast University Excellent Young Teachers Grant. He was awarded the Excellent Reviewer of Sciencepaper Online in 2008.
