本课程重点介绍现代通信系统中采用的新型调制编码及接收技术,采用系列新技术讲座形式,使通信专业研究生对现代通信系统中的最新技术有一个全面的了解,结合第三代及第四代移动通信系统,讨论这些技术在新型无线与移动通信系统中的应用情况,并讲授如何高效的进行通信系统仿真验证及通信专用ASIC设计技术,通过分组专题研究实践,使学生初步掌握现代通信系统仿真技术及工程设计技巧。

第一章 数字通信系统基本原理

回顾通信原理与数字通信课程中介绍的数字通信技术的主要内容,结合第三代移动通信系统简单介绍这些技术的应用范例。


第二章 无线通信信道及相关接收技术

重点介绍无线及移动通信信道的特征,移动通信信道给无线传输技术带来的挑战,新型接收技术如何克服移动通信信道带来的问题。

第三章 扩频通信技术及在第三代移动通信系统中应用

介绍扩频CDMA技术的基本原理,以cdma2000wcdma系统为例介绍相关传输技术的特点及其接收技术优缺点。


第四章 HARQ技术简介及其在现代无线通信系统中的应用

介绍ARQ技术及HARQ技术的背景与原理,结合新型无线与移动通信系统(3.5和第4代)介绍该技术目前的研究现状及发展趋势。


第五章 新型信道纠错编码技术

介绍Turbo码及LDPC码等新型纠错编码的基本原理及其解码算法。并结合我们的研究成果讲授如果进行码字构造和解码算法的改进与实现。


第六章 MIMO基本原理及其在现代无线通信系统中的应用

介绍发送分集技术及空分复用技术基本原理。结合第三代移动通信系统及LTE,介绍这些技术在现代移动通信系统中的应用情况。


第七章 现代通信系统主要技术指标及仿真验证方法

介绍无线与移动通信系统中的各种技术指标,评价接收技术的性能优劣的基本方法。讲授通信系统仿真的方法与技巧,介绍一些有效的通信系统仿真中的验证与调试技巧。介绍一些软件设计的技巧及仿真验证方法。

四、主讲教师简介:

赵春明:分别82年和84年于南京邮电学院获学士和硕士学院,93年于西德凯撒斯劳藤大学获博士学位, 94年至95年在东南大学无线电工程系从事博士后研究,现为教授、博士生导师。97年起承担国家863计划重大课题六项、所承担的第三代移动通信系统研究开发项目均以“特优”(Aa)通过专家组验收。2000年获国家八六三计划先进个人。2003年获国家科技进步二等奖。现为移动通信国家重点实验室副主任,中国通信学会无线与移动委员会委员,教育部2002 “跨世纪人才”,2003年入选人事部“新世纪百千万人才工程”。2001年起,负责3G手机核心芯片设计工作,研制出符合cdma2000标准,具有自主知识产权的3G手机基带处理核心芯片。2005年起参加我国未来移动通信系统(FuTure计划)的总体设计与联测工作,与B3G课题组共同完成了我国B3G实验系统,负责并完成其中高速编解码器的研工作。发表学术论文100余篇,其中IEEE Trans.等国际权威杂志论文20篇,申请移动通信方面的国家发明专利10余项,其中5项已获授权。目前主要从事未来无线与移动通信技术和新型信道纠错编译码技术的的研究。

姜明:19765月生。20071月毕业于东南大学,获工学博士学位,现为东南大学移动通信国家重点实验室讲师。研究领域为编码与信息论,主要包括LDPC码的构造和译码算法,HARQ技术。目前在IEEE/IEE及国内核心期刊和会议发表论文十多篇,申请编解码方面的国家发明专利7项。目前承担国家自然科学基金项目,“随机网络编码中的纠错码技术研究”。作为项目主要参与人员,正在承担国家863项目“高效信道编解码技术研究”,负责研究LDPC码、RS码等纠错码技术

  1. Course Introduction (including teaching goals and requirements) within 300 words:

The course is designed for Ph.D. candidates to enhance their knowledge and understanding of modern communication systems. It spans the fields of modern wireless communication systems and information theory, with specific focuses on advanced coding and modulation theory, transmission and receiving techniques, and their applications in practical systems including 3G and 4G. An introduction to efficient ASIC design for communication systems is also an important topic of this course. Through the experimental training program, the students are expected to acquire good talents for system verification and simulation.



  1. Teaching Syllabus (including the content of chapters and sections. A sheet can be attached):

Lecture contents are listed as follows:


  • Chapter 1:  Fundamentals of Digital Communication Systems

Review the elements of information theory and digital communications.

Present some examples of these technologies in practical applications, i.e., 3G communication systems.


  • Chapter 2:  The Wireless Channel and Receiving Techniques

Provide a good understanding of the wireless channel, its physical characteristics and the modeling issue.

Introduce advanced receiving methods and their advantages in wireless communications.


  • Chapter 3:  Spread-Spectrum Technique and Its Application

Present the principles of the spread-spectrum technique, namely CDMA.

For practical CDMA2000 and WCDMA systems, analyze the advantages of related transmitting and receiving techniques.


  • Chapter 4:  Hybrid ARQ and Its Application

Review the background for ARQ and Hybrid ARQ techniques.

Summarize and present current studies on HARQ for modern wireless communication systems including 3.5G and 4G.


  • Chapter 5:  Novel Techniques for Error Control Coding

Introduce principle elements of Turbo and LDPC codes, including their encoding and decoding methods.

Present some of our achievements on this field, and accordingly look at the issues of code construction and novel improved decoding algorithms.


  • Chapter 6:  Principles of MIMO techniques and Its Application

Introduce the basic transmission technologies for MIMO systems: transmit diversity and spatial multiplexing.

Give some examples of the applications of MIMO techniques in 3G and LTE.


  • Chapter 7:  Computer Simulation and System Verification

Summarize different technical criteria for system evaluation.

Present the computer simulation methods for communications systemgive some test methods for computer simulation.

  1. Brief Introduction of Chief lecturer:

Prof. Zhao, Chunming received the B.S. andM.S. degrees from Nanjing Institute of Posts andTelecommunications, in 1982 and 1984 respectively.In 1993, he received his Ph.D. degree from the Departmentof Electrical and Electronic Engineering,University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. He has beena Postdoctoral Researcher at National Mobile CommunicationsResearch Lab., Southeast University,where he is currently a professor and vice directorof the Lab. He has managed several key projectsof Chinese Communications High Tech. Programand was awarded as “excellent researcher” form Ministry of Science andTechnology, China. He has published more than 100 technical papers, among which over 20 ones are leading-referred IEEE journal papers. He has been awarded 5 patents. His research interests include communication theory,coding/decoding algorithms, mobile communication, adaptive filtering andVLSI design.

Dr. Ming Jiang was born in 1976, Jiangsu Province. After obtaining bachelor’ and master’s degrees at Southeast University, he earned his doctoral degree in 2007 from Southeast University, where he is now a lecture. His researches focus on information theory and coding technology, including the construction methods, iterative decoding algorithms of LDPC codes, and new methods for hybrid ARQ equalization and decoding. He has published more than ten technical papers in the top-referred IEEE journals and conferences. Seven patents about decoding technologies have been applied and one of them has been authorized. He is now in charge of the project titled “The Error Correction if Random Network Coding”, supported by National Nature Science Foundation of China (NSFC). He also was in charge of the coding technology of RS codes and LDPC codes for the project “High efficient channel coding technologies” supported by National 863 Hi-Tech R & D Plan since 2006.
