Title: Toeplitz Matrices and Audio Signals

This talk will first give a short introduction to Toeplitz matrices related to information theory. Secondly, it will present some results in modelling of ego-noise of unmanned aerial vehicles. We present a simulation model for the ego-noise using a finite sum of sinusoids combined with a coloured Gaussian stationary process. This model can be very effective for training noise cancelling algorithms.

Bjørn Olav Hogstad received the cand.scient degree in Applied and Industrial Mathematics from the University of Oslo, Norway, and his Ph.D. degree from Aalborg University, Denmark, in 1999 and 2008, respectively. From 2008 to 2013, he has been working as a postdoctoral researcher at CEIT with Prof. Pedro Crespo. He is now working as an associate professor in mathematics at Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Gjøvik, Norway.
