Mechanical Quality Engineer (Dim./Pro. Auditor) - Intern

Key Responsibilities
Responsible for performing process/dimension audit to maintain NPI output in sustaining phase, provide solution of auditing findings then track them to close;
·Perform regular process audit to monitor supplier process performance, provide solution for finding and track them to close.
·Maintain PMP implement to ensure proper inspection and manufacture control in place.
·Verify ORT method and performance to ensure the test objectives are met.
·Verify equipment/fixture/gauge maintenance to ensure the inspection and production deviation.
·Monitor SI on both dimensional and cosmetic to ensure inception performance.
·Perform regular product dimension audit to monitor supper shipping performance, and work with NPI MQE on corrective action of the deviation.
·Review metrology design (MTD) with Engineering Drawing, verify the MTD implement, drive MTD correct or update .
·Review gauges and measurement fixtures, and drive their qualifications.
·Monitor Measurement System Analysis to maintain the measurement errors level.
·Drive Cpk measurement, verify the data integrity and analysis variation.
·Provide effective technical direction/guidance to vendor to correct/improve audit findings.
·Create the effective and efficient audit method and system to maintain supplier performance.
·Provide valuable comparison result/solution from all audits.
Education / Experiences
Bachelor or above, majored in Mech. Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Able to communicate clearly and think logically
Clear communication and logical thinking.
Has deep knowledge on quality management system structure, quality procedures, and the application of typical quality tools in quality management practice (e.g. MSA, FA/CA, SPC, Yield Analysis, and etc.)
Be familiar with GD&T and have rich experience to apply the knowledge in actual work.
Be familiar with typical mechanical mfg. processes and technologies (i.e machining, moulding, stamping, etc.)
Has strong data analysis ability, able to utilize data analysis tools to discover the clues of inherence of data.
·Project management skill is preferred
Mechanical Quality Engineer (Color & Texture) - Intern
Key Responsibilities
·Perform regular process audit to monitor supplier performance, provide solution for finding and drive closure.
·Conduct in-region finish audits to drive quality compliance
·Responsible for conducting or participating in multi- disciplinary finishes quality improvement programs for all Apple lines of business.
·Actively participate in the development of new finishes and ensure adherence to specific goals, and strategies supporting business objectives while maintaining the highest quality.
·Serves as the color & texture consultant in region to coach and provide direction in order to achieve desired finish results.
·Consults with business partners regarding implementation of finish quality improvement strategies, measurements, and training.
·Supports finishes data analysis initiative to drive enclosure part finish quality improvements with ODM and sub-tier.
·This position will support all area's associated to Finishes across all lines of Apple business regarding finishes quality, supplier qualification, and assurance of supply w/ compliance.
·This position interface with Industrial Design, Supply Chain Management, Subject Matter Expert, Supplier Based Engineer, Mechanical Quality Engineer, Suppliers & ODM.
Education / Experiences
Bachelor or above, majored in Chemical or Mech. Engineering.
Background in Mechanical, Tooling, Colors, Materials and Finish.

Mechanical Design Engineer (HWTE) - Fulltime & Intern
Apple’s Hardware Test Engineering (HWTE) group is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with mechanical design / test / process development experience, excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication and technical leadership skills.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer within the HWTE group you will be tasked with supporting the design and development of factory metrology equipment used to test and assess Apple’s new cutting edge technology OSX/iOS products. You will be expected to work collaboratively with a world class, creative and talented team of experienced cross functional engineers including instrumentation / calibration / test, product design and operations teams developing cutting edge test solutions for Apple.
Key Responsibilities
·Detailed mechanical design of manual and automated (device, module and PCBA) test fixtures (material selection, CAD development, 2D draft creation, mechanism design, mechanical and electromechanical component selection)
·Collaborating with equipment vendors to develop and improve manufacturing capabilities and processes
·Collaborating with equipment vendors to develop and improve metrology capabilities and processes
·Management of equipment vendors regarding deliverables, including but not limited to schedules and supply chains
·Travel to support equipment design, equipment validation and deployment
·Supporting the expansion of Apple’s vendor base with regards to capability, capacity (engineering and production), geographical influence
·Support new product failure analysis during manufacturing builds and participate in continuous improvements in product manufacturability and testability, contributing to the production of the highest quality products available
Education / Experiences
Engineering degree (Mechanical / Aerospace / Mechatronics) with 2- 5 years of relevant professional experience
Working knowledge of 3D CAD modeling systems and workflow, UG NX preferred
Expert knowledge of drafting best practices and the application of GD&T principles
A thorough understanding of stress-strain relationships, static mechanics (determinate and indeterminate systems)
A thorough understanding of kinematics and mechanism design
A thorough understanding of metal and plastic materials science, tribology and wear principles highly desirable
Engineering expertise in high volume electro-mechanical PCBA and product level fixture design, including structures, sheet metal, plastics, fixture/mechanism design, robotics, probe design, plating materials and thermal design is a plus
A thorough understanding of standard manufacturing processes, especially machining processes
Working knowledge of FEA (stress analysis) highly desirable, ANSYS preferred
Working understanding of plastic part design, molded part design highly desirable
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Project and product management experience strongly preferred

Software/Firmware Engineer for Diags - Fulltime & Intern
Key Responsibilities
Apple's embedded firmware/software team is looking for exceptional software engineer based in China to drive cutting-edge technology for Apple products.
Working on core technologies you'll have the opportunity to make a major impact in the way that Apple develops, tests and manufactures its products.
In this role you will collaborate closely with the Diagnostics software engineering team in Cupertino, implement software and drivers for common firmware interfaces, chipsets and communications protocols. You will also implement features to support hardware testing and diagnosis of Apple’s mobile devices. This is a highly cross functional role and you’ll work closely with various teams, like EE, Hardware Testing, QA, Factory, Manufacturing and Operations. You will also provide software support for major build events in the factories in China.
Education / Experiences
BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent degree.
A genuine passion for embedded software development.
·Proficiency in C/C++.
·Experience developing device drivers
·Experience with debuggers such as gdb, lldb, etc.
·Familiarity with scopes and logic analyzers.

Hardware Engineering Test Design - Intern

Apple’s HW Test Engineering group is a terrific position for a student interested in working in a fast paced environment and willing to drive exciting cross-functional projects. In this role, you’ll develop new test solutions including the electrical design, SW development, and physical implementation in the factory.
Key Responsibilities
·Responsible for developing factory tests to be conducted in the Accessories space, for new product introduction. This includes:
Specifying calibration station, test stations and diagnostics for calibrating and measuring product features.
Overseeing design and development of instrumentation systems for PCBs and final products. Be responsible for these systems’ accuracy and reliability. This include the physical fixturing
Specifying/implementing test process control and data collection.
Documenting your designs.
Be the main contact concerning your tests and processes with our Contract Manufacturers.
Responsible for communicating to management and technical staff the outcome of all of the tests for the product. This position requires ability to deal with dynamic and rapidly changing environment requiring decision making with ambiguous information.
Education / Experiences
Student in BS or MS EE/Physical Sciences
Knowledge of EE fundamentals, and exposure to one of the following:
Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMM, electronic loads.
Proficient in C++
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Knowledge of data analysis and statistics
Excellent oral and written communication skills including effective presentations
