Title: Quantum Annealing for MIMO Vector Perturbation Precoding

Abstract:

Vector perturbation precoding has been shown to approach the capacity of multiuser multiple input multiple output (MIMO) communications systems. However, its complexity increases exponentially with the number of users. In this talk, I will introduce a novel lattice reduction aided quantum annealing algorithm for vector perturbation by harnessing physical quantum hardware and the optimization of hardware parameters. We observe a 5dB gain over the lattice reduction zero forcing precoding, which behaves similarly to a quantum annealing algorithm operating without a lattice reduction stage. The proposed algorithm is also shown to approach the performance of a sphere encoder, which exhibits an exponentially escalating complexity.
