The master's and doctoral programs of the ‘Circuits and Systems’ discipline were established in 1983 and 1998, respectively, as well as a post-doctoral station for first-level discipline. The academic leader, Prof. Dr. Zhigong Wang, is a Yangtze River Scholars Distinguished Professor and a High-Level Returning Foreign Experts in microelectronics and photoelectron field. 

Funded by Project 211,Project 985, National Hightech R&D Program of China (863 Program), National Natural Science Foundation of China, Science and Technology research programs of Jiangsu Province and the related programs of Southeast University, our discipline which has about 25 staffs, including two Changjiang Distinguished Professors, 12 Doctoral supervisors, 11 professors, 8 associate professors and 11 returned talents, has developed into a famous research center in the design fields of RFICs, OEICs, ultra high-speed ICs and biological implantation ICs.

Our discipline has multiple research interests, such as the theoretical research on circuit and system, computer-aided software development of circuit and system, integrated circuit design based on CMOS, GaAs, InP, and other processes, RF high-speed and optoelectronic integrated circuit design techniques for fiber-optic communications, mobile communications, satellite communications, microwave communications and radar systems, and bio-electronics circuits and systems design. We supply Multi-Project Wafer (MPW) service for more than 20 foundries and processes, domestic and international.

We have RFIC and OEIC test laboratory which has a full set of test equipment and devices. Our discipline has a privileged research center for RFIC and high speed IC design, with over hundreds of national invention patents and more than 800 high-level published papers. We have won two awards for scientific and technological progress in Jiangsu Province. We have published many textbooks, which are widely used in most universities and other educational organizations in China. The textbook entitled ‘Signal and Linear System’ and ‘Analog Circuits’ are chosen as national outstanding textbook. The reputation of our discipline is also built on the academic education, we won special- and first-prize of national Education Teaching Achievement Award China.
